About half of the population of Nepal is female. The female literacy rate in Nepal is much lower compared to the males. In the rural areas and also in big cities like Kathmandu, girls do not get to go to school because of many reasons like social or economic. In the male dominant Nepali society, women have to struggle for their rights. Due to illiteracy and lack of skills, many women and children were used by the Maoist party of Nepal during the decade long Maoist civil war. We work together with other women organizations on this which works for Nepali women who were victims of the war, domestic violence and the society.
